The Keelung-based fishing boat 'Gangfuyang No. 266' was suspected to have entered the waters near Amami Oshima, Japan, for operations, violating local fishing regulations. As a result, it was inspected by the Japanese Coast Guard vessel and detained, with all 8 crew members brought back to Japan for investigation. Japanese authorities have agreed to a fine of 6.6 million yen (approximately 1.21 million New Taiwan dollars) for the release of the boat, with the Taiwanese owner currently preparing to make the payment.
