The Keelung-based fishing boat 'Fuyang No. 266' was intercepted by Japanese authorities while operating at sea 230 nautical miles north of the Diaoyu Islands. The captain and chief engineer, both Taiwanese, were brought aboard a Japanese patrol vessel for questioning, while the six Indonesian crew members remained on the fishing boat. The incident prompted the dispatch of a Taiwanese patrol vessel for further investigation. According to the Taiwanese Coast Guard, the fishing boat may have entered Japan's territorial waters near Amami Oshima, violating local fishing regulations. The matter is currently being handled through communication between the Taiwanese Fishery Agency and Japanese authorities.
