In the early hours of July 5th, the Keelung-based fishing vessel 'Fuyang No. 266' was intercepted by a Japanese patrol vessel 288 nautical miles northeast of Pengjia Islet, 1.5 nautical miles outside the Taiwan-Japan fisheries enforcement line. The captain and seven crew members were taken for investigation, and the fishing boat was detained. The latest update indicates that the owner with the surname Tsai has been notified that Japan has agreed to a fine of 6.6 million Japanese yen (approximately 1.21 million NTD). Upon payment at the Fukuoka office, the vessel will be allowed to return to Taiwan.
