Amid ongoing controversies, Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang is facing a recall initiated by the citizen group 'Mountain Sea Citizen Demolition Action.' The second phase of the petition collection will end on June 30, with over 27,000 signatures already obtained, nearing the required threshold of 30,792. Councilor Zhang Haohan of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has set up a petition site at his service office, urging Keelung residents to join the recall and demonstrate democratic power.
