Singapore's Keppel has announced its agreement to purchase an AI-ready data centre under development by Mitsui Fudosan, Japan's largest property group, in Tokyo. This strategic move follows Keppel's plan to more than double its data centre funds from S$9 billion to S$19 billion to capitalize on the growing demand in the AI sector. The partnership will see Mitsui Fudosan handle the data centre's core construction, while Keppel's private fund will manage the fit-out, with Keppel also taking on facility management when it opens in 2027.
