Kia Corp has launched its first compact electric sports utility vehicle, the EV3, on a dedicated EV platform, aiming to attract buyers with competitive pricing despite a slowdown in the global EV market. The EV3 is part of Hyundai Motor Group's plan to introduce over 31 electric models by 2030, with Kia targeting sales of around 1.6 million EV units by 2030. Priced in the $35,000 to $50,000 range, the EV3 will be available in South Korea from July, with a European launch expected later in the year and a U.S. launch after 2025. The vehicle will offer two battery pack options and a long-range model with a driving range of about 600 kilometers on a single charge.
