In a private kindergarten in Ba De District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, children suffered from heat rashes and even scratched until bleeding due to the sweltering classrooms as a result of a malfunctioning air conditioning system that had not been fixed for a week, with temperatures reaching as high as 35 degrees Celsius on other floors. The city's Education Bureau has intervened to urge the kindergarten to repair the air conditioning promptly and to set a comfortable temperature of around 26 degrees. Despite complaints from parents and even teachers about the unbearable heat, the kindergarten's principal ignored the issue, dismissed concerns as children having sensitive skin, and suggested parents transfer their children to other schools instead of addressing the problem.
