A consortium comprising U.S. investment firm KKR and Singapore Telecommunications is set to invest $1.3 billion in ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, a major data centre provider in Asia. The deal, including an initial investment of $1.75 billion, will give the consortium an 18.3% stake in ST Telemedia. The investment aims to support the growth and expansion plans of STT GDC in response to the increasing demand for data centres in the Asia Pacific region due to the rise of artificial intelligence.
