Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang is facing a recall campaign, with over 40,000 signatures obtained in the second phase, well surpassing the required threshold of 30,792. The KMT, in support of Hsieh, is considering impeaching DPP-affiliated Keelung City Council Speaker Tong Tzu-wei to counter the 'demolition' campaign. Despite this, Hsieh maintains he does not support impeachment and stated that such actions are against his principles, whether for himself or other public officials. The KMT is gearing up for 'stabilizing' efforts by setting up response teams to coordinate with Hsieh's team throughout the impeachment process.
