After President Tsai Ing-wen's near month-long term, a new poll by the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation shows her approval rating dropped by 9.8% to 48.2%, signaling a loss of nearly 2 million supporters. Taipei Mayor and KMT Chairman Han Kuo-yu criticized that Tsai doesn't seem to be acting as President for all, but more as President of the DPP or even a representative of a new trend, citing lack of communication with the opposition, no consultation regarding legislation, and constant confrontations. Han emphasized the need to reduce the severe political polarization and questioned Tsai's approach as resembling that of a leader of a new trend rather than a DPP President.
