In response to the Blue Magpies Action against lowering the recall threshold, the Kuomintang (KMT) abruptly changed its position on the recall law, intending to keep the recall threshold unchanged and adopt the concept proposed by Wu Bing-Ruei of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). They aim to require recall initiators and signatories to attach a copy of their national ID with the issuance date, implementing penalties for false information. Amid discussions in the Legislative Yuan's Internal Administration Committee, different versions related to indigenous election systems were reviewed, with proposed changes such as a one-year tenure requirement before initiating a recall and stricter requirements for signatures, as presented in various lawmakers' versions.
