During the 2022 local elections, a 'Internet Army Establishment Plan' was circulated online, allegedly targeting DPP candidates with smear campaigns. The plan implicated KMT heavyweight members and featured fake signatures from KMT officials. KMT accused former Taoyuan City Councilor Wang Haoyu of being involved, but after investigation, Taipei prosecutors found the real mastermind to be someone else, with Wang and the 3 netizens only sharing the document without criminal intent. The case was closed with no charges filed. The document also involved other politicians like Xu Qiaoxin and Lim Yihua, sparking controversy within the political landscape.
