During a parliamentary briefing on the 'Third Wave of Democratic Reform' organized by the Kuomintang (KMT) in Kaohsiung, party chairman Eric Chu, along with other party heavyweights, emphasized the importance of uncovering the injustices and lack of transparency during the past 8 years under the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) governance. Chu accused the DPP of resorting to smear campaigns and obstructionism to hide their wrongdoings out of fear, stressing that the KMT will persist in pursuing the truth. Various KMT legislators also spoke out against the DPP's opposition to parliamentary reforms, highlighting the need for accountability and transparency in Taiwan's governance.
