The Kuomintang (KMT) held a 'Defend Democracy, Reform Congress' promotion event in Tainan, where protesters entered the venue to demonstrate against the party's alleged involvement in corruption cases. The event quickly turned chaotic as supporters of the KMT clashed with the protesters, with slogans like 'I despise the Congress,' 'Taiwan won't be good unless KMT falls,' and 'All scandals belong to the KMT' raised. Conflicts arose, but police intervention eventually diffused the situation. KMT legislator Hsieh Lung-chieh expressed the opposition's morale despite lacking administrative resources, urging more youngsters to participate in the legislative reform process.
