Knicks associate head coach Johnnie Bryant is being considered for the Cleveland Cavaliers head coaching job after the firing of J.B. Bickerstaff. Bryant, who has been with the Knicks for the past four successful seasons, is known for his player development skills and strong coaching abilities. Cleveland also has former Nets coach Kenny Atkinson and James Borrego on their radar. The Knicks would need to grant permission for Bryant to interview with the Cavs, and Bryant's candidacy could be boosted if Donovan Mitchell remains in Cleveland. Mitchell, who has expressed happiness in Cleveland, is eligible for a contract extension. If Mitchell decides not to sign, Cleveland may consider trading him, with the Knicks being one of the teams mentioned as having interest in the past.
