A 40-year-old man riding a motorcycle in Taipei city this morning was suspected of being hit by a 90 cm long falling rebar from a high altitude, leading to a fall and tearing his left upper arm. He was conscious when taken to the hospital. The police and fire department found nearby construction sites and requested two sites to halt work for investigation. Another rider in Taipei was also suspected of being injured by a falling rebar in a separate incident. Authorities are investigating the cause and potential violations of occupational safety and health laws.
