During an interview, People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for never consulting with the People's Party on how to pass legislations, while DPP legislator Lin Chun-hsien revealed that when Premier Chorng Tai took office, he tried to schedule meetings with various party caucuses twice but was rejected by the People's Party both times before finally meeting them, saying, 'Not even the Kuomintang (KMT) has such prestige.' Lin also emphasized the fundamental differences in values and ideologies between the green and blue camps, indicating that some values upheld by the DPP could never be bargaining tools in political negotiations.
