On June 19, 2024, People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je expressed the party's clear position on the financial division law, emphasizing the need to establish the party's leadership and subjectivity. Ko criticized the ruling party for wanting to be the leader in controlling money, accumulating money, and centralizing power. Ko also mentioned that discussions with former Legislative Yuan President You Si-kun and current discussions with other politicians were merely polite exchanges without any political agenda. Ko highlighted the importance of financial allocation law for better autonomy of local governments and criticized both major parties, DPP and KMT, for their respective financial approaches.
