A Korean Air Boeing 737 MAX8 plane with 125 passengers onboard experienced a pressure system abnormality mid-flight from Incheon, South Korea to Taichung, Taiwan, resulting in an emergency return to Incheon and 13 injuries among passengers. Many passengers expressed fear of flying again after the incident. This particular model of the 737 MAX 8 had previously been involved in fatal accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018 and 2019, leading to its grounding worldwide in 2019. After 20 months of modifications, the MAX series gradually resumed flights at the end of 2020, causing Boeing approximately $20 billion in losses.
