A recent Gallup survey in Korea revealed the ranking of the most favorite singers among Koreans. Surprisingly, the globally popular South Korean girl group BLACKPINK only ranked 10th, losing to the two-year-old super popular girl group NewJeans. Legendary trot singer Lim Young Woong secured the 1st place with 10.3% of the votes, surpassing the 2nd place IU with 9% support. BTS ranked 3rd with 4.9% votes, followed by trot singer Roh Tae Hyun with 4%. The up-and-coming girl group NewJeans claimed the 5th spot, while BLACKPINK landed in the 10th place as solo artists. NewJeans recently made a successful comeback and is preparing for activities in Japan, with member Hye Rin recovering from an injury and rejoining the group for upcoming schedules.
