Russian President Putin has begun his Asia tour, arriving in North Korea on Tuesday and will later visit Vietnam, embarking on a rare consecutive multi-day visit. The Kremlin confirmed Putin's return to Pyongyang after 24 years, following North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's visit to Russia last September, initiating a friendly country visit. Important agreements, potentially including a strategic partnership treaty, are expected to be signed between Russia and North Korea. Next, Putin will visit Vietnam, his first visit to Hanoi in seven years, where he is expected to meet with newly elected President, Su Lin. The US strongly protested against Putin's visit, stating that no country should provide a platform for Russian war propaganda.
