On June 23, 2024, the Executive Yuan raised a review case against the blue-white legislative version of parliamentary reform that passed its third reading in the parliament and was again rejected by the majority of blue-white legislators. The ruling party then shifted to a constitutional interpretation strategy. Democratic Progressive Party caucus leader Ku Chung-ming displayed a request for constitutional review and temporary sanctions signed by all party members, criticizing blue-white for going against the people, the constitution, and the grand justices, accusing them of being attached to the organization across the strait. The Nationalist Party's legislative caucus countered, labeling Ku Chung-ming as a true liability hindering progress in the parliament.
