A serious fire broke out in Kuwait on June 12, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people. The Kuwaiti government reported that the fire, which occurred in southern Kuwait on June 11, has claimed at least 35 lives in the Mangaf area. Videos circulating online show a residential building ablaze at lower levels, with thick smoke billowing out and darkening the sky to the point of resembling night during the day. Local media mentioned that the building was a dormitory for foreign workers, with the tragedy likely caused by improper gas cylinder storage on the ground floor. Kuwait authorities are conducting rescue operations and investigations.
