A major fire broke out on June 12 in a worker dormitory building in Mangaf, Ahmadi Province, Kuwait, resulting in at least 41 deaths and over 50 injuries. The 6-story building housing up to 195 occupants was found to be in violation of regulations. Authorities have ordered the arrest of the building owner and related personnel responsible, with investigations ongoing. The Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Kuwait blamed the tragedy on property owners' greed for overcrowding the building with workers.
