Kyrgyzstan has launched a national stablecoin and central bank digital currency in collaboration with Binance, according to President Sadyr Japarov. The new stablecoin, named A5A7, is backed by the Russian rouble and is part of Kyrgyzstan's efforts to establish itself as a cryptocurrency leader in Central Asia. The digital currency is ready for government payments, and a national cryptocurrency reserve has been set up. This move comes at a time when Japarov's government has faced criticism for suppressing dissent since his rise to power.
