The Ministry of Labor in Taiwan has extended two projects, 'Stable Employment Measures' and 'Post-Epidemic Labor Shortage Project,' until December 31st to help businesses cope with challenges and stabilize workers' livelihoods. This extension comes as Taiwan's labor market faces varying situations in different industries, with manufacturing companies reducing shifts due to international economic conditions while service industries experience labor shortages post-pandemic. The 'Post-Epidemic Improvement of Labor Shortage and Expansion of Employment Plan' provides incentives up to NT$13,000 per month for workers willing to work in the hospitality and food service industries, with opportunities for up to 12 months of benefits. The 'Stable Employment Measures' aims to assist manufacturing companies implementing reduced hours, benefiting nearly 3,000 individuals in the central Taiwan region. Those eligible for the program can receive up to NT$9,200 per month. Workers and employers not covered by these industries can still apply for vocational training support under the 'Recharge and Restart Training Program' if facing reduced hours.
