The Ministry of Transportation required all counties and cities to complete the marking of 10% yellow lines or temporary parking spaces every 100 to 150 meters by June this year, but as of June 5, only 10 out of 22 counties and cities have completed the task. Four regions, including Taoyuan, have identified zero demand for yellow lines and designated parking spaces, with Taoyuan having the lowest completion rate at 47.42%. Concerns have been raised about the suitability of the designated spaces for drivers and suggestions for additional measures like creating curved spaces 10 to 30 meters beyond intersections have been made. The Ministry of Transportation is prioritizing environmental improvement and continuing to roll out projects to enhance pedestrian spaces in light of the deadline and policies surrounding roadside parking and sanctions against violations.
