President Lai Ching-te announced that he will apply for a constitutional interpretation and temporary disposition after the Legislative Yuan recently voted against the Executive Yuan's parliamentary reform bill. He urged opposition parties not to act recklessly before the constitutional interpretation. In response, People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je criticized Lai for betraying trust, violating the constitution, and hinted at Lai being like Hitler. Lai's presidency has been marked by internal conflicts and tension across the strait, with the current focus on the expansion of parliamentary powers and Lai's use of constitutional interpretation as a means to bypass laws. Ko criticized the Democratic Progressive Party for not consulting with other parties, causing division and animosity.
