President Lai Ching-te, who has been in office for one month, personally announced the establishment of the National Climate Change Response Committee, the National Resilience Defense Committee, and the Healthy Taiwan Promotion Committee with task-oriented composition. However, Ko Wen-je, chairman of the People First Party, criticized the establishment of committees by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as ineffective maneuvers to insert their own people without tangible results. Also, criticism was raised about the lack of legal basis for Lai's committees by the Kuomintang legislators, questioning the constitutionality and legality of the move.
