Lai Ching-te: Rejection of Surrenderism 'First Battle Leads to Last Battle’; Ma Office Responds

Reported 8 months ago

President Lai Ching-te attended the 100th anniversary celebration of the Army Officer Academy and mentioned the rejection of the surrenderism principle ‘first battle leads to last battle’. Ma Ying-jeou Foundation CEO Hsiao Hsu-cen responded, stating that President Lai leans towards seeking war, but what the people need is a president who avoids war, not incites it. Hsiao pointed out that the 'first battle leads to last battle' strategy is from the National Defense Policy Research Institute during the Tsai Ing-wen presidency, aimed at winning wars. He criticized Lai for prioritizing personal pro-Taiwan independence views over national interests and people's well-being, emphasizing the importance of peace and prosperity for citizens.
