President Lai Ching-te held a press conference to mark his first month in office under the theme 'Trust in the New Politics, New Taiwan Era'. In response to allegations by KMT legislator Weng Hsiao-ling accusing Lai of betraying the country, President Lai stated that he cannot comment on legislators' remarks as president but emphasized that society will judge. He also announced the establishment of three new committees to address climate change, national defense resilience, and health promotion in Taiwan. Lai reiterated that in a democratic society, the country's interests must come first and the people are the top priority.
