President Lai Ching-te held a one-month press conference titled 'New Lai New Politics New Taiwan.' Regarding Prime Minister Cho Rong-tai's proposal for reconsideration upon taking office being viewed by the Kuomintang as deepening opposition between factions, Lai emphasized that the Cabinet’s proposal for reconsideration is not to fight against the Legislative Yuan but to provide another opportunity for the Legislative Yuan to review the bill content, stating that ‘this direction is positive.’ Lai also mentioned the possibility of convening a national conference to unify Taiwan and bring consensus among parties, business, government, and academic institutions.
