President Lai Ching-te called on Beijing to acknowledge the existence of the Republic of China and engage in dialogue with the 'Taiwan democratically elected government,' emphasizing that 'democracy is not a crime, authoritarianism is.' Lai Ching-te also addressed the 'Taiwan Independence 22 Measures,' urging Beijing to confront the issue together for the betterment of both sides.
