Reported 8 months ago

Defense Minister Kao Li-hsin went to the Legislative Yuan on the 17th to report on the 'Sea-Air Power Enhancement Plan Procurement Progress and Execution Effectiveness' and 'National Defense Department Secret Project Budget Demand' and for questioning. President Lai Ching-te stated at the Army Officer School's centennial celebration that the military must distinguish between friend and foe and cannot accept surrenderism of 'war-is-over in the first battle,' which was criticized by Ma Ying-jeou's office as provocation. Kao responded saying Lai meant Taiwan needs to strengthen self-defense capabilities and resistance, refusing surrenderism of 'war-is-over in the first battle.'
