Lamigo Monkeys Baseball Star Chiu Dan Drives Under Influence, Crashes on Highway, Released Without Bail

Early this morning on June 10, Lamigo Monkeys baseball star Chiu Dan was involved in a self-collision accident on National Freeway 1 in Madou District, Tainan City, at approximately 304.5 kilometers northbound. After investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the red SUV was the Lamigo Monkeys outfielder Chiu Dan. The police determined that he was driving under the influence and has been referred to the Tainan District Prosecutor's Office. However, after questioning, the prosecutor decided to release him without bail. Chiu Dan, a former Gold Glove award winner, is currently playing in the minor league team of the Lamigo Monkeys, and despite the incident, he remains an important outfielder for the team. The prosecutor considered the case as involving DUI self-collision without causing serious harm to others, and therefore released Chiu Dan without bail around noon on the same day. The incident serves as a reminder to refrain from drinking and driving for the safety of oneself and others.
