In the early hours of June 10, 2024, Lamigo Monkeys baseball player Qiu Dan was arrested for drunk driving after crashing his vehicle into a guardrail on the northbound section of National Highway 1 in Madou. The police discovered the damaged vehicle and conducted a breathalyzer test, which showed Qiu's blood alcohol level exceeded the limit. The incident has been referred to the Tainan District Prosecutors’ Office for investigation, and the team stated that Qiu will be disciplined according to company regulations.
