Landlords Prohibited from Overcharging Electricity Fees Starting Mid-July

Reported 12 months ago

Starting mid-July, a new regulation approved by the Executive Yuan's Consumer Protection Commission will officially come into effect, stating that landlords can only charge tenants the exact amount reflected on their electricity bills, preventing them from overcharging. This initiative, proposed by DPP legislator Hong Shenhan, is aimed at addressing the common issue of landlords overcharging electricity fees to tenants, which has caused disputes and lack of transparency in the past. The regulation ensures that landlords can no longer profit by inflating electricity fees, marking a step towards rectifying unfair practices in the rental market.
