Las Vegas experienced a historic high temperature on July 7, with the Fahrenheit temperature reaching 120 degrees Celsius (49 degrees Celsius), breaking previous records. Meteorologists were taken aback as the temperature continued to rise due to the proximity of southwest airflow and high pressure centers. The scorching heat not only affected Vegas but also led to delays and cancellations in flights, as well as power outages. Residents were advised to stay indoors, keep hydrated, and be cautious of symptoms of heat-related illnesses.
