Launch of Home Emergency Care in July, Lai Ching-te Hopes to Expand Physician Services

President Lai Ching-te visited the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital on July 2nd, 2024, to learn about the new 'Telehealth and Telemedicine Treatment Methods' and the 'Home Emergency Care Trial Program'. The new system and trial program were implemented yesterday, aiming to benefit around 5,400 people with an estimated budget of 350 million NT. Lai emphasized the practicality of the program for providing care to homebound elderly and those in care institutions, enabling treatment without requiring hospitalization. The program involves a care team consisting of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists, offering care for conditions like pneumonia and urinary tract infections. Lai highlighted the importance of using technology to improve healthcare services and expressed his commitment to creating a healthier Taiwan during his presidency.
