Law-abiding Pedestrian Offends Coercion Crime by Honking Horn|Zhongzheng Second Police Quickly Resolve Conflict on Scene

On June 15, 2024, at 8:20 am, the head of Nanchang Police Station, Liao Jiejun, explained the situation. A man surnamed Li, while driving a van in Taipei at the intersection of Hangzhou South Road and Jinhua Street, stopped to give way to pedestrians and was honked at by an oncoming vehicle. Li and four family members in the car then got out, surrounded the honking vehicle, and tried to get the driver to step out, prompting the driver to call the police. The police arrived promptly and brought all six individuals back to the station, with the case being transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office for investigation on charges of impeding freedom and coercion under the Criminal Code.
