A lawsuit filed in Chicago federal court accuses Conagra Brands of deceiving consumers by 'short weighting' its Mrs. Paul's and Van de Kamp's frozen fish products and falsely claiming they are '100% whole fish.' Three consumers stated that by adding water and sodium tripolyphosphate to increase the weight of the products, they are overpaying for the fish sticks and fillets. Conagra declined to comment on the pending litigation, and the plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages for purchasers nationwide over the last four years, citing violations of California, Massachusetts, and New York consumer protection laws.
