In a competitive niche of agricultural futures, a historic spring wheat contract from the Minneapolis Grain Exchange, active for over 140 years, successfully counters a new spring wheat offering from CME Group, the world's leading futures exchange. Despite CME's attempts to penetrate the market with their variant contract, trading volumes have declined sharply, while the MIAX, which owns the Minneapolis exchange, continues to see stable trading activity. Major grain handlers prefer MIAX, highlighting the importance of commercial participation for the contract's success.
