Legendary French Sword 'Durandal' Mysteriously Stolen After 1300 Years Embedded in Cliff Wall

Reported 12 months ago

The legendary sword known as the French version of 'Excalibur,' Durandal, has vanished mysteriously from a small town in France where it had been inserted in the cliff wall for almost 1300 years. According to local folklore, the theft occurred in the medieval town of Rocamadour, a popular tourist attraction where Durandal was on display. The sword's legend dates back to the 11th-century French epic poem 'Song of Roland,' narrating how it was given by the Archangel Michael to King Charlemagne, then passed to the valiant knight Roland before being embedded in the cliff as part of the legend.
