Legislative battle continues as Electoral Law undergoes review! Fu Kun-chi condemns violent occupation of committee, Ke Jian-ming vows no compromise

Reported about 1 year ago

The Legislative Yuan's Internal Administration Committee reviewed the amendment draft of the Electoral Law, leading to clashes between the ruling and opposition parties. Kuomintang's Fu Kun-chi condemned the Democratic Progressive Party for twice violently occupying the committee in a day, while calling for the public to see through the DPP's true nature. DPP's legislative caucus leader Ke Jian-ming declared no compromise on amending the Electoral Law. The review focused on whether a photocopy of an ID card should be provided for recall petitions. Tensions rose as the two parties engaged in multiple conflicts during the review, with the DPP accused of obstructing the process. The KMT reiterated its determination to uphold public opinion and fight against the DPP's actions.
