Legislative Reform Amendment to Be Voted on June 21; Zhu Liun Urges Voting Against to Firmly Support Parliamentary Reform

Yahoo News June 19, 2024, 4:20 AM. The Legislative Yuan will vote on the Executive Yuan's proposed amendment to the Parliamentary Reform Act on the 21st. KMT Chairman Zhu Liun urged all legislators to not forget their duty to supervise the government and to stand firm on parliamentary reform by voting against the amendment. The public is expected to supervise the Legislative Yuan surrounding the vote day. The KMT legislative caucus has secured rights to the roads around the Legislative Yuan on the 21st to gather supporters. Zhu emphasized the importance of voting against the amendment to support comprehensive reform and not to serve as a tool for the ruling party. Zhu also critiqued President Lai Ching-te for perceived arrogance and urged a focus on Taiwan's and the Republic of China's interests for a better future during a meeting.
