On July 4, 2024, at 3:30 a.m., the Internal Affairs Committee of the Legislative Yuan scheduled a review of the draft amendment to the Public Official Recall Law. DPP lawmakers occupied the chairman's podium early in the morning, causing a delay in the proceedings. Serious conflicts erupted between the Pan-Blue and Pan-Green camps, leading to the morning session being unable to proceed. In the afternoon, the situation did not improve, prompting the committee chair, Kao Chin Su-mei, to announce an adjournment and the rescheduling of the session for next Monday. Both parties remain at an impasse. Further details: [link to article]
