After the fierce battle between the ruling and opposition parties over the passage of certain articles of the Legislative Yuan Powers Exercise Act and amending the Criminal Code of the Republic of China, the Executive Yuan formally proposed reconsideration on the 6th. The DPP plans to launch a one-month 'Anti-Authoritarianism, Protect Democracy' nationwide promotion starting on the 14th; the KMT is also preparing to hold large-scale promotions in 22 counties and cities. Kaohsiung Mayor and People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je remarked that instead of promoting after passage, it would have been better to debate well at the Legislative Yuan from the beginning.
