Legislative Yuan Constitutional Court Appointees: KMT and DPP Representatives Weng Hsiao-ling, Lin Ssu-ming, and Huang Kuo-chang

Reported about 1 year ago

As the parliamentary powers amendment took effect, the DPP Legislative Yuan caucus, Executive Yuan, and President Lai Ching-te successively applied for a constitutional interpretation and temporary disposition. In response, the Constitutional Court will hold a hearing on the temporary disposition on the afternoon of the 10th. During a party consultation led by Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu, it was decided that the KMT would appoint 2 representatives and the People's Party one. The People's Party designated lawyer Lin Shih-meng as their legal representative and the caucus's convener Huang Kuo-chang as the institutional representative. The KMT appointed legislators Weng Hsiao-ling and Lin Ssu-ming as their institutional representatives, with further discussions ongoing regarding the legal representatives. Time constraints were noted, as the Constitutional Court's tight schedule required the legislature to swiftly appoint representatives, leading to concerns of preconceived outcomes during the consultation.
