On June 21, 2024, the Executive Yuan requested a review of the Legislative Power Exercise Act in the Legislative Yuan, but the review was rejected as over 57 legislators supported maintaining the original decision and opposing the review. The amendment included provisions such as requiring the President to provide immediate responses during national reports and imposing a fine of NT$200,000 for contempt of parliament. The Executive Yuan's review request was made due to perceived difficulties in implementing the new provisions, and after approval from President Lai Ching-te, it was brought to the Legislative Yuan for review. With the Nationalist Party and independent legislators holding 54 seats, the Democratic Progress Party 51, and the People First Party 8, the review was ultimately unsuccessful.
