During a meeting of the Legislative Yuan's Internal Administration Committee to review the amendments to the electoral law, a physical altercation broke out between blue and green party legislators. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Lin Chuyin accused Kuomintang (KMT) legislator Wang Hongwei of slapping her, while Wang claimed that Lin had initiated the physical aggression. Both legislators later filed complaints with the Taipei District Prosecutors' Office accusing each other of assault. The conflict stemmed from an incident where DPP legislator Lai Hui-yuan was grabbed around the neck, leading to a series of altercations. The situation escalated into physical violence with various accusations being made by both parties.
